Murray Donaldson is a leading town planner who has helped shape town centres and residential and mixed-use precincts across Sydney.

His diverse expertise includes statutory and strategic planning, advising on development controls and preparing environmental assessments. Murray also has a wealth of experience in major urban renewal projects, particularly mixed-use and multi-unit housing. He is adept at guiding clients through planning processes – from master planning to building approvals.

He is proud to have developed the Housing Design Guidelines for Wallarah Peninsula, a model residential community on 600 hectares in Lake Macquarie, and the Rhodes West Development Control Plan, which delivered a successful transit-oriented development. Both projects received a Planning Institute of Australia Award for Planning Excellence. Murray also led the Planning team that secured approvals for DEXUS’s Gateway building redevelopment at Circular Quay.

With a balanced and pragmatic approach to applying planning principles, I help clients create outstanding developments that are environmentally and economically sustainable.
