Urbis was engaged by Clifton Development Group to undertake pre-purchase due diligence planning advice and prepare a development application for boutique 7-storey commercial office building. Designed by award winning architect Grimshaw, the aim of the development is to revitalise the existing redundant warehouse building and provide high-quality office spaces, which will attract tenants within the cultural economy, connecting with the site’s location adjacent to the Oxford Street Cultural and Creative Precinct and on the Sydney CBD fringe.

The provision of this strategically important employment floor space within this location will enable the development of diverse business clusters in the CBD Fringe and contribute to the employment and productivity targets. The project showcases for contemporary workplace, one that engages and activates the public realm.

Urbis prepared the development application, provided traffic and transport advice, and undertook the CPTED analysis. We provided Planning and Traffic and Transport expertise, helping to secure a Section 34 Agreement with the City of Sydney in the successful Class 1 Appeal in the NSW Land and Environment Court.

Clifton House will be a contemporary workspace supporting the cultural economy of Surry Hills in the Eastern Creative Precinct on the Sydney CBD fringe.
