The $1 billion redevelopment of three WA shopping centres will create hundreds of retail jobs and 3750 construction jobs over the next three years. It will also see the arrival of a trio of new David Jones stores.

Urbis provided Scentre Group, owners of Westfield, with town planning, urban design, economics and research services for the expansion of its Whitford, Innaloo and Carousel centres.

Regional Director Ray Haeren, Directors Karen Wright and Kris Nolan and Associate Directors Sean Morrison and Megan Gammon, as well as members of Urbis’ national retail team, helped to unlock the development potential of the three centres.

These city-shaping redevelopments represent a new frontier of retail - outward facing, part of the community and design excellence

Ray Haeren said: “We are really pleased and proud to have helped facilitate a great outcome at these Westfield Centres in WA. These major expansions will provide a much-needed boost to the WA economy as well as a new contemporary shopping experience for consumers in Perth.”

Karen Wright added: “These city-shaping redevelopments represent a new frontier of retail – outward facing, part of the community and design excellence. Innaloo, for example, is shifting from an inward-facing centre to a catalyst for a new city centre.”
