Urbis is providing strategic town planning and urban design to guide the redevelopment proposal for a significant expansion of the Carousel Shopping Centre in Canning. Carousel is one of a trio of Westfield redevelopments currently underway in WA.
Our work has included:
- the creation of a Local Development Plan to guide the appropriate built form and interfaces of the expanded centre
- strategic advice into preparation of design drawings for development approval
- facilitation of design workshops with the Council
- representations on behalf of the client at formal proceedings
The full redevelopment will include an additional level of retail, a significant public square, street-facing retail, an open air fresh food market, and additional structure car parking.
Future development stages may include further uses such as residential and office.
