Westfield approached Urbis in 2012 to assist in a major expansion of its Whitford City shopping centre in Hillarys, 20km north of Perth CBD.
Our planning team worked with Westfield, the City of Joondalup and other stakeholders to map out the key processes and changes required, working backwards from an essential development approval timeframe.
Our work has included facilitating key scheme amendments, preparing an Activity Centre Structure Plan, providing expert property economics advice, offering stakeholder liaison services and overseeing the development application process. We also provided urban design and landscape architecture services.
The team’s detailed understanding of the statutory planning framework complements a strong understanding and awareness of the processes required to achieve successful outcomes in a timely manner.
The first stage of redevelopment at Westfield Whitford City has commenced. This exciting project will transform the existing Piazza into a unique casual dining and entertainment precinct including 10 new restaurants, family entertainment, a state-of-the-art cinema complex and a lush green public space. Redevelopment works are expected to be completed by late 2017.
