Fiona Binns is a heritage consultant with a passion for the history of our cities – unearthing the stories of the past, as told by the buildings, landscapes and objects left behind.  

Since joining Urbis in 2007, Fiona has acted for government and private clients on local, state and national heritage sites and across a variety of sectors. Her expertise includes heritage reporting and conservation management plans, architectural design advice and historical research, as well as significant strategic and master planning projects. With qualifications museum studies, Fiona is well placed to help reconnect the community with its history through innovative heritage interpretation and designs.  

Fiona’s career highlights include providing heritage and conservation advice on the Kent Brewery buildings, Australian Hotel and adjoining terraces at One Central Park – an award-winning residential development in Sydney; and her work on the Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve, situated in the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Greater Blue Mountains Area.

I am passionate about the preservation and interpretation of our cultural heritage. We are always looking for innovative solutions to celebrate and engage with heritage as part of a dynamic and sustainable city.
