Urbis worked with the City of Parramatta Council and the Design Competition winning trio of architects – Manuelle Gautrand Architects, Design Inc and Lacoste + Stevenson – to deliver approval of the $90 million new Council chambers and community facility building.
This development will be an iconic feature in the heart of the Parramatta CBD, and will deliver a range of civic functions and community facilities. The project includes the integration and adaptive reuse of the locally heritage listed Town Hall Building and will be the centrepiece in the $2 billion Parramatta Square redevelopment.
Urbis provided both urban planning and heritage planning services from inception to approval. Urbis are proud to have been involved in this key city shaping project which marks a new era for the Parramatta CBD.
This project was complex. Urbis played a leading role to help guide the challenging planning and heritage issues to ensure the building will positively contribute to the CBD’s revitalisation.
