Urbis’ work on gaining approval to enhance telecommunications facilities in Kosciuszko National Park illustrates our respect for protected environments.

Telstra asked us to help it gain consent to build a 20.75-metre tower on Blue Cow Mountain in the park, which is listed on the Australian Heritage register. The tower on Blue Cow will be the park’s largest, and the ruggedness makes installing infrastructure difficult. We selected the best site and design after collaborating with government and private stakeholders. We also conducted a helicopter survey and planned the cabling route on foot.

The success of both projects showcases the skills of our Telecommunications Team.

In addition, Telstra wanted to extend an existing tower owned by Kosciuszko Thredbo Pty Ltd by nine metres. We won NSW National Parks and Wildlife consent in five weeks and negotiated a transfer of ownership to Telstra. The success of both projects showcases the skills of our Telecommunications Team.
