Urbis was instrumental in securing approval for the upgrade of the Brunswick Terminal Station, which future-proofed Melbourne’s electricity supply and provided for additional customers within Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
On appointment, Urbis quickly identified shortcomings in the original planning approvals and subsequently worked closely with AusNet and the City of Moreland to secure the additional approvals required to enable work to commence. Both planning and design services were utilised throughout the project. The preparation of photo montages from the Design team helped to illustrate the ultimate views of the site.
The new technology, building design and extensive landscaping improved the terminal station’s visual appearance and environmental contribution to the Merri Creek corridor and surrounding residential community.
