Urbis designed and implemented a communications and engagement program to support the master planning process for The University of Queensland St Lucia Campus. The master plan provides the strategic framework for the planning and development of the campus over the next 20 years.

The master planning process was underpinned by a program of early engagement with stakeholders and the local community, which ensured the master plan’s directions were responsive to both emerging global market opportunities and local community dynamics. Communication and building trust were key to delivering these outcomes.

Targeted engagement activities were implemented throughout the project, including participatory design opportunities with residential colleges, students and staff, and the establishment of a Community Reference Group that has been running since 2016.

The award-winning master plan has also informed the Site Development Plan. It will guide the strategic development and investment decisions for the campus in the future.

Working in partnership with the University’s project team to deliver an authentic and robust approach to project governance, stakeholder and community engagement.
