The project includes an international standard indoor netball court, a multipurpose indoor function and recreation space for community events and a museum to tell the history of the 109-year-old building.
Urbis was engaged to undertake planning and heritage services for the major redevelopment of Sydney’s iconic Royal Hall of Industries at Moore Park as the new HQ for the Sydney Swans.
Working closely with the Sydney Swans, project architects Populous and the broader consultant team as well as the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust, Urbis was successful in achieving SSDA approval for the redevelopment.
Following approval, the Heritage Team has been engaged to provide ongoing services throughout the design and construction phase of the project, including heritage architect services for conservation and restoration works, and detailed design and provision of interpretation. We look forward to seeing this existing project through to completion.
“Urbis are thrilled to be working on the adaptive reuse of this grand, federation free classical building, to transform it into a world-class sporting and community hub.
