The timely release and development of industrial land is critical to the economic growth of Melbourne. A large part of modern industrial development is the warehousing, logistics and distribution network which provides the framework for the delivery of goods purchased online. As eCommerce grows and as Melbourne grows the development of industrial estates and facilities in appropriate locations is paramount to a successful economy.
Urbis were engaged by Charter Hall to provide design and planning assistance for the Midwest Logistics Hub in Truganina. The estate is Charter Hall’s largest Melbourne industrial and logistics estate in the heart of the Truganina Employment Precinct Structure Plan area.
Urbis led the masterplanning for the estate and continue to secure subdivision and development approvals as the estate is rolled out. The vision for the estate includes a focus on high quality public realm and the creation of a premium industrial estate.
This project showcases Urbis’ collaborative working style as well as our ability to secure approvals in a timely manner to enable commercial/industrial development to meet tight project deadlines.
Urbis’ master planning advice was critical in allowing us to set the estate up the most efficient way in the early stages and helped us with the planning and development approval processes with various authorities.
