LandCorp’s redevelopment of the 1,400ha Latitude 32 Industrial Zone is one of the largest projects of its kind in Australia.

The redevelopment responds to the huge demand for industrial land within Perth’s most important industrial region, the Western Trade Coast, and supports economic and employment growth in the area.

Urbis has been involved since 2011, helping LandCorp to unlock the land in a way that meets their objectives and activates industrial development.

Our team is acting as lead advisor and project coordinator, supporting LandCorp with the preparation of structure plans, master plan amendments, local planning policies, design guidelines and assessment of development applications.

Taking a collaborative approach and partnering with LandCorp and key stakeholders including the Department of Planning and the Department of Transport, ensures the right level of certainty and stakeholder ‘buy in’ to successfully drive the project forward.

Project milestones to date include:

  • a well-advanced draft District Planning Framework to guide future planning
  • amendments to the master plan to facilitate structure plans
  • approval of structure plans and buy in from key-agencies
  • adoption of design guidelines for each of the development areas within Latitude 32

Planning for Latitude 32 is complex. To achieve the right balance of and flexibility and certainty, we created a partnership between Urbis, LandCorp and key stakeholders.
