The acquisition of five sites suitable for radio communications towers was essential to manage the safe operation of the protection system supporting AusNet’s electricity network. The establishment of this communication link is also an important part of AusNet’s work to safely connect renewable energy generators.
Part A of the brief was to identify suitable properties; secure commercial terms with landowners; and secure planning permits for the proposed infrastructure. Part B of the brief was to secure sub-division and transfer of ownership in the newly created Lots to AusNet Services.
We were able to achieve sub-division approval in farming zones and due to the identification of an exemption to the planning requirements, our client was able to build and operate the towers prior to sub-divisions being finalised. It was a pleasure to assist AusNet in improving the safe operation of its network in north-eastern Victoria.
“This critical infrastructure was needed to oversee the safe operation of the protection system supporting AusNet’s electricity network.
