TOGA Central will be an iconic gateway for Sydney’s most productive and energetic neighbourhood at Tech Central, combining the beauty of the heritage-listed former Parcels Post building, to be retained on the site, with inspiring new architecture and public realm.
Urbis was the key planning and heritage advisor to the Toga Group in preparing for a state-led rezoning application that facilitates the development of a 42-storey commercial office and hotel development on the site. Our team worked through a rigorous design review process that resulted in favourable site-specific controls that enable the reimagining of a significant building at Central Station with additional employment-generating floor space within the emerging Western Gateway sub-precinct.
Urbis was pleased to work with TOGA Group and Bates Smart in securing formal approval for a State Significant Development Application in February 2024. The determination approves the construction of a new mixed-use development on the site with significant public domain works including provision of a new Henry Deane Plaza, associated landscaping and through site pedestrian links.
“The project combines the beauty of the heritage-listed former Parcels Post building, to be retained on the site, with inspiring new architecture and public realm.
