This $1.8 billion urban renewal project will be developed across four precincts over 15-20 years and include 4700 social, affordable and market dwellings, a new retail precinct, childcare facility, library, community centre and a combined church and residential aged care facility as well as open space.
Urbis was delighted to have assisted Frasers Property Group in providing Planning, Community Planning, Heritage and Archaeology, and Visual Impact Assessment services in supporting the tender submission and the Concept and Stage 1 DA for the Telopea Urban Renewal project.
The redevelopment of the 13.4ha site comprising 486 existing social housing dwellings is one of the largest social housing projects undertaken under the NSW Government’s Communities Plus program and the first of its type under the State Significant Development framework.
Our work on the Concept and Stage 1 DA follows the work that Urbis undertook in developing the Master Plan on behalf of NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) in 2017 to plan for a sustainable and feasible renewal outcome for the Telopea precinct.
“The renewal of Telopea will foster the long term growth of a vibrant, cohesive, attractive and safe neighbourhood.
