Set at the headwaters of the Parramatta River bordering the Parramatta CBD and Westmead and on the lands of the Burramuda people of the Dharug Nation, the Parramatta North Precinct is one of Greater Parramatta’s largest urban renewal opportunities.
A collaboration between our Planning, Design, and Engagement team with Property and Development NSW and other experts established a new vision and prepared the rezoning application to transform the 42-hectare precinct.
The rezoning application was prepared to introduce new planning controls that support the land use and built form objectives for the wider Westmead Health and Innovation District, to protect and increase open spaces for local and future communities with an enhanced river corridor and preserve significant heritage buildings and spaces. It enables the delivery of a new university in line with the vision for the Westmead Health and Innovation District, and delivers housing solutions aligned to the Westmead Place Strategy.
Urbis is honoured to have supported the whole of government objective to deliver jobs and new housing along the recently opened Parramatta Light Rail.
“The Parramatta North Precinct state-led rezoning application will unlock underutilised government land and building assets. It will deliver a diversity of education, research, commercial, cultural and residential outcomes over the next 30 years.
