Mulpha has set about an ambitious program to upgrade the Intercontinental Hotel, which includes State heritage-listed components and is set in the historic Governors’ Domain and Civic Precinct.
“The proposal will reposition the Intercontinental Hotel as world class visitor accommodation by celebrating and reinvesting in its unique heritage fabric.
Working as a multi-disciplinary team, Urbis secured endorsement from Heritage NSW for the Hotel’s Conservation Management Plan and managed the State Significant Development approval process to ensure Mulpha was able to progress with the refurbishment works in earnest.
The upgrades to the ground level cortile space and Level 32 vertical addition will improve accessibility, sustainability, and public domain outcomes, enabling the hotel to maintain its role as an internationally renowned five-star operation.
