Urbis is pleased to have assisted The GPT Group secure planning approvals for the George Street Parramatta Precinct that will bring to life a new precinct in the heart of Parramatta CBD.
Shaped by our in-depth heritage advice and specialist planning services, the George Street Parramatta Precinct will be a new vibrant hub of commerce, collaboration, technology, heritage, and culture.
The recent planning approval for the first tower designed by Bates Smart (59-storeys) followed a staged approach that included a site-specific Development Control Plan (DCP), coordination of the Architectural Design Excellence Competition, and Detailed Development Application. The Concept Approval for the second tower designed by Curzon + Partners (40-storeys) have also been secured, which will complete the precinct.
The integrated precinct design celebrates both the Aboriginal and European heritage qualities across the site, notably, framing the Georgian Perth House and the heritage Fig Tree which adorns George Street. Once completed, the innovative precinct will provide flexible workspaces and bring people together.
“The George Street Precinct is set to transform Parramatta into a global, liveable, and sustainable city.
