Urbis has partnered the Victorian Racing Club (VRC) to transform Flemington Racecourse, one of the most iconic racing venues in the world.
As the host of marquee events such as the Melbourne Cup Carnival, the VRC is committed to keeping its competitive edge on the global stage. A long-term redevelopment will see more than $200 million spent on upgrades at Flemington Racecourse, including a new grandstand to replace the old members stand built in 1924.
“The redevelopment of Flemington Racecourse will strengthen its reputation as a world-class racing and lifestyle destination while celebrating the rich history of racing in Melbourne.
The VRC will also repurpose land that is no longer needed for racing events. Urbis is working closely with the club to explore development opportunities for two parcels of land – Flemington Green and Epsom.
Our work – which draws on expertise in planning, landscape architecture and social planning – will ensure the redevelopment strengthens Flemington’s reputation as a world-class racing and lifestyle destination while celebrating the rich history of racing in Melbourne.
