Ben Porteous has extensive statutory planning experience gained from more than 15 years at an inner Melbourne Council. Through Ben’s time at local government, he has honed his collaborative and solution oriented abilities whilst working with multiple and often competing stakeholders. Ben is an expert in development facilitation and obtaining statutory planning approvals for a variety of projects. With an in-depth knowledge of the Victorian Planning Provisions, Ben can identify challenges and provide client-focused solutions. Since joining Urbis Ben has been involved in significant commercial development projects within the Melbourne CBD. Ben has leveraged his experience in local government to become an expert in project management of planning permit application. Having lived and travelled extensively overseas, Ben has experienced a broad range of urban environments, providing a diverse perspective on planning responses.
