Urbis experts recommend significant investment to prevent crippling traffic congestion by 2041, as reported by the Geelong Advertiser.

Using a leading Vision and Validate approach, in a report commissioned for the G21 Region Integrated Transport Strategy, Urbis Transport experts, Graham McCabe, Director and Alison Lee, Director, have developed an Integrated Transport Strategy to ensure that that traffic speeds do not slow to such an extent that commute times become untenable for some residents and workers in the region. This report is based on modelling developed by Veitch Lister Consulting to support Urbis’s approach.

The Geelong Advertiser quotes G21 Chief Executive Giulia Baggio as saying, “We need to start this investment now… otherwise, our cities and towns will be heading to a standstill by 2041 with a car-dependent population of more than half a million people.”

The strategy is one of several city and region-shaping projects being undertaken with the strategic support of the local Urbis Geelong team.
