PIA 2016

It was a terrific night for Urbis, with our Perth and Brisbane teams winning in two prestigious categories at the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) National Awards for Planning Excellence, held on Thursday 12 May.

The Urbis Perth team won the Best Planning Ideas – Small or Local Project award with partner Landcorp for WGV @ White Gum Valley.

Urbis provided planning and urban design services from the inception of this project, which commenced some six years ago. WGV is a unique urban infill redevelopment project that aims to demonstrate the economic and social benefits of sustainable development and create a best practice blueprint for the planning and development of small infill sites within middle suburbs.

The Urbis Brisbane team picked up The Great Place Award for their work with the Gladstone Ports Corporation on the Gladstone Coal Exporters Maritime Precinct, East Shores.

Urbis provided urban design, landscape architecture and masterplanning services to successfully unlock the potential of the East Shores precinct as an iconic new waterfront destination for the City of Gladstone.
