Urbis has been preparing for the creation of Woodlea ever since Victoria Investments & Properties (VIP) and Mirvac dreamed it up. Our skills in urban and strategic design, master planning, place-making and social infrastructure have helped shape Melbourne’s newest suburb and fastest selling greenfield estate in the country.

In the early 2000s, we were asked to lead a team to position the site and win planning approval.

Urbis’ place-making work has helped shape a project recognised as an exemplar of innovative community development.

Urbis won ministerial support for a fast-tracked Precinct Structure Plan and rezoning approval – giving the project a huge head start on competitors in neighbouring sites in the growth corridor. Urbis also provided valuation services and is now leading the master planning for Woodlea, which will eventually be home to 20,000 people. The vision encompasses its social services, sports clubs, parks, nature trails, cafes and amenities, as well as educational and job opportunities.
