We assisted WIN Corporation gain development consent for an iconic, metropolitan-scale mixed use development that occupies an entire street block in Wollongong City Centre. The project includes six buildings set above a new plaza and open air through-site link that will be activated throughout the day by 58,000sqm of retail, entertainment, health, leisure, cinema, commercial and residential uses.

WIN Corporation has also made significant investments in adaptively reusing existing heritage buildings and positioning the project to achieve carbon neutral certification at completion.

Urbis supported WIN Corporation in navigating a complex approval process, which involved six Design Review Panel meetings, and ongoing engagement with Wollongong City Council staff. Our team prepared all planning documentation for the project, including a Statement of Environmental Effects, two Clause 4.6 variation requests, together with an Economic Impact Assessment and a Visual Impact Assessment.

Following several years of planning, the project was granted development consent by the Southern Regional Planning Panel in December 2022.

This transformational project will deliver an iconic, metropolitan scale mixed use development to a key site in Wollongong City Centre.
