Campbelltown City Council required business case development services for the WestInvest program, a $5b program to fund transformational infrastructure projects across the Western Sydney region.
Client Challenge: Campbelltown City Council required an experienced advisory arm to cultivate an investment strategy and roadmap. Including the development of several business cases for submission to the NSW Treasury, equating to approximately $350 million worth of project funding for local infrastructure.
What we did: Future State advised Campbelltown Council on approx. $350m worth of project investment submissions to the NSW government. Phase 1 involved advising on the investment strategy and roadmap for submission and leading the decision-making process for project selection. Phase 2 involved development of a business case template and extensive development of the business case for three specific projects, including active transport infrastructure and the transformation of local city centres.
Our Impact: Future State provided best practice guidance and mentorship based on extensive experience delivering infrastructure business cases. As a result, Future State were able to increase efficiencies by streamlining processes and resourcing across the business case program. This enabled Campbelltown City Council to develop several business cases within a compressed timeframe. Our team also provided a strategic assessment of each of the infrastructure projects, which ensured Campbelltown City Council were able to optimise their allocation of funding.
“Future State worked with Campbelltown City Council to optimise their allocation of funding for transformational local infrastructure projects with a combined value of approximately $350m.
