A competition for development rights for one of Melbourne’s largest universities required a demonstration of innovation excellence.

Client Challenge: Lendlease was shortlisted as a master developer for the expansion of the La Trobe University’s Bundoora Campus –
 – To facilitate the university’s growth over the coming decades and;
– reposition the campus as an innovative mixed-use precinct in response to the unique opportunity that the recently announced Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) project would present.

What we did: Future State was engaged to ensure Lendlease’s master plan bid capitalised on these opportunities and demonstrated market leading innovation.

Future State advised on global best practice innovation precinct models. Outlining the sectors and expertise with the greatest potential to transform the campus, ensuring alignment with La Trobe University’s existing strengths and aspirations.

Future State also undertook analysis of the university’s resident, worker and visitor catchments to identify and capture the requisite needs of the community within the master plan.

Our Impact: Under Future State direction, Lendlease was successful in reaching the final stages of the competitive bid process.
