The Toombul Upstairs Precinct is part of Mirvac’s Toombul Shopping Centre revitalisation strategy. It transforms the old maintenance and loading dock area and integrates it with the food court and cinemas to create a thriving outdoor plaza and event space for the community.
The Urbis landscape team was engaged to bring Mirvac’s vision to life. Rather than providing a highly polished response that would look out of character, Urbis referenced the utilitarian infrastructure, celebrated street inspired culture and drew upon a colourful palette that would provide a distinctive day to night transition.
The resulting character provided a relaxed family focussed community entertainment zone complete with water play, multipurpose event space, areas to lounge and explore. This has translated to a revived day and night experience with an eclectic entertainment and food & beverage offer.
