Specialist family violence (SFV) services provide critical support for women and children experiencing family violence. SFV case managers play a central role by helping to identify and coordinate access to targeted interventions, services and supports.
The Victorian Government, through Family Safety Victoria, has engaged Urbis to review SFV case management services in Victoria. We will work closely with the family violence sector to co-develop a strengthened case management response that is aligned with the broader reform environment.
The review is part of the Victorian government’s larger policy response to family violence, which has committed to implementing all 227 recommendations made by the Royal Commission into Family Violence. Our work will be built on evidence-based best practice and ensure the case management guidelines acknowledge and build on the achievements of previous sector reforms. We will engage with sector stakeholders and provide all SFV services the opportunity to participate in the review. A key platform of communication will be the SFV CS Review Portal.
The updated case management response will improve the safety and well-being of those experiencing family violence, and ultimately reduce the incidence of serious harm.
“We bring over 25 years’ experience to researching and evaluating family violence programs nationally – and are privileged to have this opportunity to work with the sector, and contribute to the transformation of the way in which we address family violence in Victoria.
