North Sydney Olympic Pool, colloquially known as the world’s most beautiful pool, was suffering from excessive concrete cancer, and a multitude of structural issues belonging to its unique location and age.
Urbis’ work at North Sydney Olympic Pool assisted the North Sydney Council to gain development approvals for the multi-million-dollar renewal of the dilapidated site. This illustrates our commitment to city shaping projects.
The site was in need of refurbishment to improve the facilities for a growing user base, and with assistance from both the Heritage and Planning teams, consent was achieved for this major redevelopment.
Drawing on our heritage expertise, Urbis provided advice to the architects, schedules of conservation work, and are providing on-site heritage conservation advice for the duration of the project. Urbis is excited to have assisted with the transformation of this iconic site into a state-of-the-art fitness and leisure centre for all Sydneysiders.
