The University of Melbourne’s Conservatorium of Music will be an exciting addition to Melbourne’s Art Precinct, delivering world-class performance and music education spaces for the city. We were delighted to secure planning approval for this spectacular new performance space.

A complex project, it involved the integration of the new Conservatorium of Music building with a linear park and demolition of heritage buildings, and securing approval for a scheme, which did not originally comply with height controls. Our team successfully led the planning process, delivering a permit for the overall development within four months of lodgement.

Designed by John Wardle Architects, the Conservatorium of Music building will include a 400-seat auditorium and will frame a new public landscaped space,  linking Sturt Street and Dodds Street.

We were thrilled to work with John Wardle Architects and the University of Melbourne to deliver another exciting asset to Melbourne’s arts precinct.
