Urbis assisted Stamford Property Services and AJ+C Architects in securing Concept Plan, Stage 1 and Stage 2 approvals for approximately 700 apartments and ancillary retailing within 7 buildings of 8 to 22 storeys. The site is a landmark opportunity at the gateway to Macquarie Park and the village will create a vibrant, accessible and sustainable precinct. The transit oriented site is within 400 meters of Macquarie University, Regional Shopping Centre, Railway Station and bus interchange.
The project was approved by the Planning Assessment Commission (PAC) in advance of Council’s review of the Macquarie Park planning provisions and the Herring Road Priority Precinct. Uplift was sought and approved via a modification when the new higher controls were gazetted.
In addition to demonstrating design excellence and resolving detailed residential design issues with Council’s design review panel, the project achieved additional height on the gateway corner of Herring and Epping Roads and addressed various issues relating to car parking rates, traffic generation and apartment mix and size.
“The design by AJ+C Architects resolved numerous challenges and achieved outstanding sales results for Stamford Property Services.
