Cavcorp wanted to deliver a new residential apartment tower, Le Bain, that featured a genuine integration of landscape, resulting in a unique design with a cohesive green element. While responding to the inner-city urban context of the new development, there was a real drive to explore a variety of opportunities for sustainability and engaging landscape over multiple levels in the building.

Through detailed site analysis, continuous collaboration with Cavcorp, and a dedication towards providing world-class facilities for residents, the design for Le Bain was born. Located in the vibrant suburb of Newstead, Le Bain embraces the subtle cues of neighbouring heritage brick buildings while unashamedly celebrating a new contemporary style and elegant landscape design. With generous landscape that threads organically across the building and over 25 super-advanced trees on podium, the undeniable hero of the development is the world class rooftop recreation facilities that overlook the Brisbane CBD and the surrounding city-scape.

The world class communal rooftop has been embraced by residents as a highly valued place that enhances their recreational lifestyle and creates a hub for social interaction.

With the increase of inner city living, communal recreational spaces are becoming increasingly important for the health and well being of inner city residents. This development is a prime example of how nature and recreational opportunities can coexist to celebrate a significant green addition to the urban landscape. With early collaboration and a strong vision, we are proud to have facilitated a strong design practice throughout the development process.
