The design scheme of Lathlain Park Community Zones creates a parkland precinct with a range of diverse recreation spaces within the former Tom Wright Reserve and Lathlain Park sites.
Commissioned by the Town of Victoria Park, the landscape master plan is organised around a structure of pedestrian links, and recreation spaces designed to create an easily navigable precinct.
The concept builds on the existing site attributes, retaining trees and providing play and interpretation opportunities. This approach incorporates the use of endemic species, avenue planting and the provision of generous landscaped zones to enhance the retained site vegetation.
“A key feature of the parkland is the all-abilities play space, a unique series of linked playgrounds in which children and parents of all abilities can enjoy recreation and develop and understanding for the local environment.
