Working collaboratively with Hassell Architects, Development Victoria and the Geelong Arts Centre Trust, Urbis were delighted to secure planning approval for the new Geelong Arts Centre.
The contemporary Arts Centre was expertly designed by Hassell Architects to strengthen the cultural diversity of the City of Geelong and add to the State’s collection of premier visual and performing arts venues, as well as key cultural institutions.
Incorporating new rehearsal facilities, dance studios and creative industry studios, the new development will realise an improved venue to deliver an iconic public facility that will integrate with the surrounding cultural precinct, connecting with the redeveloped Library and Johnstone Park.
The planning expertise provided by Urbis ensured that the multifaceted proposal, involving a number of development stages, accorded with the established vision for the precinct. Navigating a complex approval process involving a number of important stakeholders, Urbis provided critical planning assistance to facilitate approval in a timely matter.
“We were delighted to partner with Hassell Architects, Development Victoria and Geelong Arts Centre Trust to secure planning approval for the new multifaceted arts centre, which will enhance the cultural offerings in the City of Geelong.
