Urbis was part of the Department of Education and Training (DET) 2016 revaluation of land and building assets for all state schools for the period ending 31 December 2016.
This was a vast assignment where Urbis Real Estate Advisory was engaged to assess the fair value of every state school within the municipalities of Cardinia, Mornington Peninsula, Frankston, Greater Dandenong, Kingston, Bayside, Glen Eira, Port Phillip and Stonnington.
The portfolio comprises a mixture of primary, secondary and special schools, which includes heritage buildings – many of which listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.
Part of the brief involved updating DET’s asset register with new or disposed assets. This included identifying any discrepancies in information noted on the register.
The project was undertaken over a three-month period, which was a tight time frame given the number of assets. Urbis delivered the project on time and within budget.
“Our valuer’s meticulous inspection regime ensured that the department’s asset register was brought up to date. This resulted in valuation advice that the department could trust.
