Urbis was invited to demonstrate how good growth can be achieved in Sydney, showcasing the firm’s multidisciplinary expertise across design, planning, economics and research.
Our team worked with the Good Growth Alliance – a coalition of peak industry bodies and NGO leaders – to propose a hypothetical concept plan for a mixed-tenure community adjacent to Macarthur Station in South West Sydney. Developed through three workshops in the span of a month, the plan provided for 1,600 units – including 30% social and affordable housing and over 7,500 sqm of open space. This plan was supported by a feasibility model showing how a viable concept could be delivered.
Urbis also incorporated smart city principles in the design to create an exemplar of a socially, environmentally and commercially sustainable place.
“Urbis are always willing to take on an interesting project, support ideas and contribute to the wider conversation about how our city is growing
