Urbis’ work on the Carillon redevelopment showcases the firm’s ability to harness its multidisciplinary skills for truly city shaping projects.
Carillon sits at the heart of Perth CBD’s retail malls, and whilst having played an important role in Perth’s retail past, needs renewal. Perth’s retail heart is struggling to keep pace with suburban competition and the Carillon site provides an opportunity for a comeback.
Urbis has secured planning approval for a wholesale redevelopment of site, with complete demolition and the construction of a new 6 storey retail, dining and entertainment complex (including cinemas), with a 17 storey office tower above.
The complex redevelopment involves new vehicle loading tunnels, bridges and underground connections to adjacent properties, as well as new public laneways and gardens that will enhance the experience for Perth residents, workers and visitors.
Urbis provided advisory, planning and landscape design services for the project, helping to secure substantial built form and parking variations and plot ratio bonuses.
