Atlassian Central is a world-leading project, seeking to deliver the tallest timber-hybrid tower on the doorstep of Sydney’s busiest transportation hub. It is a catalyst for change, not just for the Sydney CBD but also for sustainable architecture globally.

The tower, designed by SHoP Architects and BVN, will include a new hostel accommodation in the lower levels as well as Atlassian’s new workspace across several ‘neighbourhoods’ including an incubator for start-up companies. The project seeks to celebrate and adaptively re-use the State Heritage listed Inwards Parcels Shed as part of the innovative design response.

Urbis has worked closely with Atlassian in their journey to deliver their new global Headquarters. In addition to delivering the rezoning of the site, our team managed the complex design competition that included competitors from New York, Copenhagen, Rotterdam, Melbourne and Tokyo.

We are also the lead planning and heritage consultants for the State Significant Development Application and provided heritage, archaeology, visual impact, engagement and community planning services for this significant city-shaping project.
