A registered architect, certified passive house designer and heritage consultant, Thomas brings over 15 years’ experience providing expert advice in conservation and sustainable design across commercial, cultural, mixed-use, educational, and residential projects for public and private clients, both in Australia and the UK.
Thomas has a detailed understanding of State and National heritage frameworks, and is skilled in the preparation of conservation management plans, heritage impact statements and asset management strategies. Alongside the provision of strategic advice, he also brings a technical and practical understanding of environmental, material and construction issues to each project.
Thomas has taught at UTS as a tutor in environmental design and architectural history, and continues research into sustainability issues including embodied carbon, material reuse and construction technology.
He is a founding member of the Australia ICOMOS National Scientific Committee on Energy and Sustainability.
