Simon Wilkes brings 15 years of statutory and strategic planning experience to the Urbis team, having worked in the private, local government and state government sectors.  Since joining Urbis in 2012, Simon Wilkes has applied his expertise in statutory and strategic planning to considerable diversity of projects across New South Wales and Western Australia.

He draws on many years’ experience to make sure approvals and planning frameworks meet community needs while delivering exceptional commercial results for his clients. Drawing on his background in local and state government, Simon has crafted planning strategies for a number of metropolitan and regional local government areas.

His career highlights include coordinating land releases for major urban developments in Perth’s rapidly growing south-east corridor; and drafting ground-breaking improvement schemes in Western Australia – among them the Shenton Park Hospital redevelopment and the Ashburton North Strategic Industrial Area project.

Simon is currently assisting clients with advancing their projects for new residential, industrial and hotel developments across Sydney.

Although planning systems offer challenges, there is generally an opportunity to achieve practical and excellent outcomes, for both clients and the community. My aim is to provide clients an absolute commitment to technical detail, determination and focus on engaging with all stakeholders based on mutual respect.
