On Wednesday 10th July, city shapers across Australia rolled up their sleeves and banded together for the launch of Urbis’ inaugural National Give Back Day.

Teaming up with iconic food rescue organisation, OzHarvest, the Urbis team helped cook up thousands of meals for people in need.

The event included participants from Urbis’ Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane offices, coming together to support this important cause. Among the participants were Urbis Managing Partner, James Tuma; Ben Slack, Partner and Regional Director of Queensland; Tim Blythe, Partner and Director, Planning; and Melissa Gunsmith, Group Director of Strategy and Markets.

Never has demand for food relief been this great and we need all hands-on deck to get more food to those who need it. A huge thank you to Urbis for supporting OzHarvest on your inaugural Give Back Day!”

In solidarity, Cistri, Urbis’ international brand based in Singapore, spent the day volunteering with the Salvation Army at their Tanglin Family Hub. The team sorted donated goods for those in need. The Salvation Army is a worldwide institution, and the Singapore arm works to improve the well-being of vulnerable children and youth, frail elderly, isolated migrant workers, ex-offenders, and struggling families and individuals.

Urbis and Cistri’s Give Back efforts are spearheaded by Carlos Frias, Director. This event forms part of a broader program that includes local volunteering opportunities, donations, sponsorships, and pro bono work, all aimed at benefiting the community. Newly promoted Director in Urbis’ Melbourne office, Vicky Grillakis, coordinated the event in collaboration with Urbis’ Give Back team.
