“
We welcome a fresh perspective, and hope to see the WA Government continue its major planning reform process and consider ways to leverage the role of the Planning Department.
“Ms Faragher has big shoes to fill given the success of John Day in initiating and delivering planning reform. However, there will be many challenges ahead as WA enhances its response to key issues, such as design standards for multi-unit development, and the reforms required to meet our targets of infill and consolidation,” said Mr Haeren.
The role of Planning will change as the WA economy transitions in the wake of the resource construction boom. We welcome a fresh perspective, and hope to see the WA Government continue its major planning reform process and consider ways to leverage the role of the Planning Department to the benefit of the state’s economic development.
Urbis also wishes to extend its congratulations to Nedlands MLA Bill Marmion on his appointment as Minister for State Development and Finance.
We look forward to working with both Minister Faragher and Minister Marmion in continuing our work on major new industrial estates in Perth and across WA to support the state’s economy.
