We are Geelong – the Urbis footprint has expanded to Victoria’s South West with a new Geelong office and the appointment of local Planning Director, Nat Anson.

Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula represents one of Australia’s fastest growing regions – with more than 150,000 new residents anticipated by 2036 – and now offers an attractive alternative to Melbourne for investors, businesses and home buyers.

Geelong is “open for business” with an established vision for a ‘clever and creative future’ that transforms Australia’s most liveable regional city into an energetic and innovative place to live, work and play by 2047.

Several region shaping projects are underway and in the pipeline. The Geelong City Deal, agreed in March 2019, delivers $370 million in Government investment to the region and funds several city shaping projects.

The introduction of our new premises in Geelong’s bustling Little Malop Street and appointment of Planning Director, Nat Anson marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for Urbis, our clients, industry partners and communities.

A Geelong local, Nat, leads our regional expansion, bringing undeniable value and strategic planning expertise to the Urbis fold, adding: “We are uniquely placed to be a thought-leader in Geelong and solve the complex matters that unlock this region’s fullest potential. Victoria’s regional cities, towns and landscapes can make an outstanding contribution to our shared economic, environmental and social prosperity.”

Urbis will play an active role with local stakeholders to realise our shared interest: the growth and prosperity of the Geelong region and the wider economic development of Regional Victoria.

Our new office is located at the heart of Geelong’s central revitalisation along with cafes, bars and small businesses that are emblematic of the city’s culture shift.

Prior to joining Urbis, Nat held senior management positions in strategic planning departments at State and Local Government including the Victorian Planning Authority (VPA). Nat’s most recent experience at the City of Greater Geelong had him leading the delivery of the largest master planning project ever undertaken in Regional Victoria – the Northern and Western Geelong Growth Areas Framework Plan.

Urbis has a long-standing history of work with clients across the region. Some of our city-shaping projects include the Geelong Performing Arts Centre, South West Regional Cancer Centre and Balmoral Quay.

The new office will be supported by Urbis’ other Geelong residents, Planning Associate Directors, Adelaide Smith and James Hamilton.

We’re excited to be closer to many of our Geelong and regional clients. We look forward to building new relationships and adding value through our passion for shaping cities and communities for the journey ahead.

Our Geelong team is located at: Office 7, Unit 4, 23-31 Gheringhap Street, Geelong (access via Little Malop Street)
