At Urbis we are committed to creating and supporting an inclusive and diverse workforce where gender equity is paramount. To achieve gender equity, Urbis has a Gender Equity strategy which is constantly evolving.

Our approach is designed to enable all genders to succeed and provides the opportunities, resources, and programs for our employees to progress to senior levels at the same rate as their colleagues.

Our approach is designed to enable all genders to succeed and provides the opportunities, resources, and programs for our employees to progress to senior levels at the same rate as their colleagues.

Urbis is committed to addressing gender challenges both in our industry and within the organisation. A deep dive into the results suggest the presence of occupational segregation, where men are overrepresented in senior and specialised positions. Whilst influenced by these disparities, it is pleasing to see that Urbis is significantly better when compared to the industry benchmark of 24.6%. This however does not slow us down or become complacent as we aspire to bring our GPG % closer to 0.

Inclusive policies and practices such as flexible working (formal and informal) and non-gendered parental leave is easily accessible by all employees.

At Urbis, we have engaged in a variety of initiatives to reach an inclusive and diverse workforce. Urbis does a gender pay gap analysis on a yearly basis at each pay cycle, we undertake a role by role pay review to ensure fairness and equity. Inclusive policies and practices such as flexible working (formal and informal) and non-gendered parental leave is easily accessible by all employees. Urbis ensures formal leadership development programs are offered, such as various sponsorship programs for women, such as our SOAR program. Gender targets of 40/40/20 have been implemented since 2014 and are also considered when reviewing promotions across our workforce.

Urbis aims to achieve gender equality through ongoing review of our policies and practices and to foster a culture of inclusion. Implementing and being part of the change to achieve gender equality is the responsibility of all. We are committed to continuing our efforts to invest and accelerate women in our workplace.
