Urbis Sydney cooked up a feast this November, raising over $2,500 to help rebuild the lives of at-risk and homeless young people.

Over 100 Urbis staff and guests enjoyed the spring sunshine, gourmet kebabs (served with a smile by senior Urbis staff), live music by Sam Marks, raffles and games.

All money raised went directly to the Property Industry Foundation’s Hard Hat campaign. The campaign builds homes for at-risk and homeless young people across Queensland, NSW and Victoria. Over the next five years, the Foundation hopes to build houses to assist 125 young people and provide them with counselling and life skills.

See some highlights from the day in the video below.

The is just one of the many events that Urbis is proud to be part of.

Committees in our Australian offices, as well as our Cistri office in Singapore, help shape our communities, both internal and external, through various initiatives.

The Diversity and Inclusion board and working groups are championing change and celebrating the diversity of religion, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender and ability. Since their establishment last year, the working groups have developed workplace flexibility policies, lead the celebration of and Harmony Day and continued to work towards the target of 40% female directors by 2019.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan was launched in May 2016 and continues to drive our commitment to building respectful and collaborative working partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, organisations, businesses and communities.

Urbis has also provided pro bono services to help several community organisations. We worked with Project Youth, a youth support service to help build a business case for an education and employment training program for at-risk young people. And earlier this year, we provided landscape design services to the Property Industry Foundation Blacktown House.

We’re proud to support groups like PIF, that put so much energy into helping to overcome major problems in our society, such as youth homelessness. Together we can continue to shape cities and communities for a better future.
