Urbis has scored a trifecta, winning three awards at the 2015 Queensland Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) Awards, held in Brisbane on Friday 29 May.
The National Design team, led by Directors James Tuma, Natalie Hoitz, Paul Hardyman and Glen Power, won two awards in the Planning category for the Brisbane City Centre Masterplan and the River’s Edge Public Realm Study (in partnership with design studio Lat27).
The Brisbane City Centre Masterplan delivers a coordinated strategy to guide future development, transport and public space investments over the next 20 years.
Brisbane City Council’s River’s Edge strategy process was initiated in 2012 as an outcome of Council’s economic development report Brisbane’s Unique Window of Opportunity and will guide planning for enhancing the river’s recreational and economic development opportunities over the next 10 years.
The evening was capped off when the team also took out the Award of Excellence for Urban Design for the Gladstone East Shores Masterplan, which successfully unlocked the potential of the East Shores precinct as an iconic new waterfront destination for the City of Gladstone.
Congratulations, team!
