The Next Generation (TNG) will deliver Australia’s largest ‘energy from waste’ facility, and the first for NSW. TNG will have the tecnological capacity to divert up to 1.35 million tonnes of unsalvageable and uneconomic residue waste from landfill, using it to create enough ‘green’ electricity to power
200,000 homes.

TNG will be NSW’s first, and Australia’s largest, facility for converting residual waste to energy — enough to power more than 200,000 homes.

Urbis’ role in the project is that of lead consultant; co-ordinating and managing a large multidisciplinary team of technical consultants, including international ‘energy from waste’ specialists, as well as providing technical planning support in the preparation of the request for secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements and the subsequent Environmental Impact Statement. Urbis’ continuing role as the lead consultant includes liasing across Commonwealth, state and local government.
