Spanning three Local Government Areas, the East Leppington Precinct is one of the largest land releases in Sydney. It includes 3,500 new dwellings over 463 hectares, accommodating 8,000 residents in Sydney’s south west.
Urbis assessed the social infrastructure and open space requirements of the precinct’s future residents. This included auditing existing facilities, reviewing forecast population demographics, holding focus group meetings with prospective residents and comparing proposed plans against industry benchmarks.
Based on this research, Urbis was able to give informed advice on the type, scale and timing for installing open space infrastructure. Our recommendations mean the current and future residents of East Leppington have access to the active recreational areas and co-located facilities they need to live a healthy lifestyle in the new precinct.
