Located in the middle of a leafy street in one of Melbourne’s politically sensitive inner suburbs, this project looked to develop eight modern townhouses that challenged the traditional character of the area.

Our team’s experience with the local area, however, provided our client with a clear approval strategy from the beginning of the project. We guided the project architect to overcome the neighbourhood’s traditional character policy requirements by implementing a modern design.

Utilising our relationships with Council officers at Boroondara, our team gained a positive officer recommendation, thereby giving the application an advantage at VCAT and helping us provide expert planning evidence with a highly successful result.

This approval for eight modern townhouses will contribute to increased housing density and provide quality homes in a tightly-held inner suburb.
